ATTENTION TO STUDENTS WHO WILL TAKE THE PLACEMENT TEST ON SEPTEMBER 08, 2025
Students who meet the criteria below will be eligible to take the Placement Test (EPL) on September 08, 2025 and the English Proficiency Exam (EPE) on September 09 – 10, 2025:
1. Newly Enrolled Students at TED University
The registration process for our newly admitted students at TED University will take place between September 01–05, 2025. These students do not need to apply for EPL or EPE. They will directly take the Placement Test on September 08, 2025 at 09:00. Students who demonstrate the required performance in this exam will take the English Proficiency Exam on September 09–10, 2025:
- September 09: Reading, Listening, Writing Exam (09:00)
- September 10: Speaking Exam (by appointment – exam times will be announced later).
2. Students Admitted in 2023 and 2024 who Studied in the English Preparatory Program and are Eligible to Take the Exams
- Students at Upper-intermediate levels (Extended / Short / Success) and students who have successfully completed the Intermediate level and advanced to Upper-intermediate.
(These students do not need to take the Placement Test held in September.) - Students at Elementary – Pre-Intermediate – Intermediate levels.
(Students studying at these levels, or those repeating, will first take the Placement Test, and if they demonstrate the required performance, they will then take the English Proficiency Exam.) - For 2024 admitted students, taking these exams is optional. If they do not take the exam, or if they take it but are placed at a lower level, their placement will be determined based on their performance in the last module they attended.
3. Students who failed to complete the English Preparatory Program within the Maximum Period of 2 Years and Whose Enrolment at the University was Terminated
- According to Article 9, Clause 1(b) of the English Language School (ELS) Education and Exam Directive, these students will be allowed to directly take the English Proficiency Exam.
Students in this situation must complete their application by September 05, 2025, at 17:00. It is important that they contact els@tedu.edu.tr as soon as possible to obtain information about the application process (exam fee payment, application email, etc.).
- According to Article 9, Clause 1(b) of the English Language School (ELS) Education and Exam Directive:
“Students who have completed the maximum period of education and whose enrolment has been terminated are granted the right to take the English Proficiency Exam three times within three years after termination, or to submit a national/international language exam result accepted by the University Senate. These students must apply to the English Language School at least one week before the latest exam date specified in the academic calendar. Students who fail to succeed within this period lose all their rights.”
