English Proficiency Exam (EPE)

Criteria for the English Proficiency Exam (EPE) to Be Held on January 15-16, 2025:

For Transfer Students

  • Direct Admission to Undergraduate Programs:
    Candidates applying for transfer who have passed the proficiency exam at their respective higher education institutions and are transferring from programs conducted 100% in English can directly enroll in undergraduate programs.
  • English Proficiency Documentation:
    Students applying from outside TEDU who will not take the exam must document their English proficiency. Candidates who provide equivalency certificates indicating they have obtained one of the scores accepted on internationally recognized exams (listed on the English Language School’s website) can commence their studies in their registered programs.   • Preparation Program Enrollment:
    Candidates applying via the Central Placement Score for Transfer from higher education institutions that teach in Turkish or partially in foreign languages and are in preparatory or first-year status must document their English proficiency. They will be admitted to the English Preparatory Program if they cannot.
  • Taking TEDU’s English Proficiency Exam:
    Students unable to document their English proficiency can take the TEDU English Proficiency Exam. Students must contact els@tedu.edu.tr as soon as possible for detailed information regarding the application process.

For Prospective Graduate Program Students:

  • English Proficiency Requirement:
    Candidates applying for graduate programs must document their English proficiency. Proficiency is assessed through TEDU's English Proficiency Exam (EPE) or equivalent national or international exams approved by the University Senate for graduate programs.     To receive guidance on the application process (exam fee payment, application email, etc.), candidates should contact els@tedu.edu.tr as soon as possible.
  • Exemption for TEDU Graduates:
    Graduates of TEDU are not required to provide additional documentation of English proficiency when applying for graduate programs.

For Students Dismissed After Exceeding the Maximum Period for the English Preparatory Program:

Students who failed to complete the English Preparatory Program within the maximum allowed period of two years and were dismissed from the university are eligible to take the English Proficiency Exam directly under Article 9, Clause 1(b) of the English Language School (ELS) Education and Examination Directive.
 

These students must complete their applications no later than 5:00 PM on January 10, 2025. For detailed information regarding the application process (exam fee payment, application email, etc.), they should contact els@tedu.edu.tr as soon as possible.
