EPL&EPE Information for Newly Registered Students and Students Admitted in 2022 and 2023

On September 03, 2024, the English Placement Test (EPL) and on September 04-05, 2024, the English Proficiency Exam (EPE) will be held for the following students:

  1. Newly Registered Students at TED University: The registration process for newly admitted students to TED University will be conducted between August 19-21, 2024. These students do not need to apply for the EPL and EPE exams. They will directly take the Placement Test on September 03, 2024, at 9:00 AM. Students who perform adequately in this exam will be eligible to take the English Proficiency Exam, which will be held as follows:
    • September 04 (Reading, Listening, Writing) at 9:00 AM.
    • September 05 (Speaking Exam), by appointment; the schedule will be shared later.
  2. Students admitted in 2022 and 2023 who are currently enrolled in the English Preparatory Program and are eligible to take the relevant exams:
  • Upper-Intermediate Levels (Extended / Short / Success) and students who have successfully completed the Intermediate level and moved up to the Upper-Intermediate level. (These students are not required to take the Placement Test in September. They only need to apply for the English Proficiency Exam.)
  • Elementary - Pre-Intermediate - Intermediate Levels:
    (Students in these levels or those who are repeating these levels will take the Placement Test first, and if they perform adequately, they will be eligible to take the English Proficiency Exam. Therefore, they must apply for the EPL exam.)

FOR APPLICATION:
Students admitted in 2022 and 2023 must apply via email to els@tedu.edu.tr by August 26, 2024, at 5:00 PM, providing the following details:

  • Full Name:
  • Student ID Number:
  • Most Recent Level Attended:
  • Year of Admission to the University:
  • Students who submit incomplete information or fail to apply will NOT be allowed to take the relevant exams.
  • Participation in these exams is optional. Students who do not take the exam or perform at a lower level will be placed based on their performance in the last module attended.
  1. Students who have not successfully completed the English Preparatory Program within the maximum education period of 2 years and whose relationship with the university has been terminated: According to Article 9, Clause 1(b) of the English Language School (ELS) Education and Examination Regulations, these students may directly take the English Proficiency Exam. Students in this situation must complete their application by August 26, 2024, at 5:00 PM. It is important to contact els@tedu.edu.tr as soon as possible to obtain information regarding the application process (exam fee payment, application email, etc.).

 According to Article 9, Clause 1(b) of the English Language School (ELS) Education and Examination Regulations:
"Students who have completed the maximum duration of education and have had their relationship with the university terminated due to failure are granted the right to take the English Proficiency Exam up to three times within three years after their dismissal or present a national/international language exam accepted by the University Senate. These students must apply to the English Language School at least one week before the latest exam date specified in the academic calendar. If they do not pass within this period, they lose all their rights."
