Regarding the English Proficiency Exam (EPE) for Transfer Students, Prospective Graduate Program Applicants, and Students Who Have Not Successfully Completed the English Preparatory Program

The English Proficiency Exam (EPE), scheduled for August 26, 2024, is available for students who meet the following criteria:

  1. For Students Applying for Transfer:
    • Candidates applying for transfer based on their Weighted Grade Point Average (GPA) and who have successfully passed the proficiency exam of the relevant higher education institution, and who have registered for the first time at TEDU from other higher education institutions with 100% English medium programs, will directly begin their undergraduate program.
    • Students applying from outside TEDU and who do not want to take Proficiency Exam are required to document their English proficiency. Candidates who submit an equivalency certificate showing they have achieved one of the scores accepted by the English Language School from internationally recognized exams can begin their studies in their registered program.     • Candidates applying for transfer based on their Central Placement Score from institutions that offer programs in Turkish or partially in a foreign language, who are either in preparatory or first-year status and cannot document their English proficiency, will be accepted into the English Preparatory class.
    • Students who cannot document their English proficiency may take the English Proficiency Exam conducted by our University. It is important to contact els@tedu.edu.tr as soon as possible to receive information on the steps to follow in the application process.
  2. For Prospective Graduate Program Applicants:
    • Candidates applying for graduate programs are required to document their English proficiency. English proficiency is determined by the English Proficiency Exam (EPE) conducted by our University. National or international language exams deemed equivalent by the Senate for graduate programs may also be used. (Detailed information can be found at https://els.tedu.edu.tr/.) It is important to contact els@tedu.edu.tr as soon as possible to receive information on the steps to follow in the application process.
    • Graduates of the University applying for graduate programs are not required to provide additional documentation of their English proficiency.
  3. For Students Who Have Not Successfully Completed the English Preparatory Program Within the Maximum Allowed Time:
    • Students who were dismissed from the University for not completing the English Preparatory Program within the maximum two-year period are eligible to take the English Proficiency Exam directly, as per Article 9, Clause 1(b) of the English Language School (ELS) Education and Examination Regulations. These students must complete their applications by August 23, 2024, latest 5:00 p.m. It is important to contact els@tedu.edu.tr as soon as possible to receive information on the steps to follow in the application process (such as exam fee payment, application email, etc.).
