GENERAL INFORMATION AND PROCEDURES FOR EPL ON 10.09.2021

Dear Students,

Please find information about English Proficiency Exam (EPL) taking place in two different sections starting at 09:30 or 13:30 on 10.09.2021. Classroom information and student lists will be shared in the afternoon on 09.09.2021.

  • Students who are taking the exam in the morning session are expected to be readily available in the allocated exam room at 09:30. Students who are taking the exam in the afternoon session are expected to be readily available in the allocated exam room at 13:30. HES code will be requested at the campus entrance in order to check the current vaccination status and risk assessment. Those who are found risky upon HES inquiry or those who are considered as suspected case (due to high fever etc.) will not be allowed to take the exam. Please allocate a considerable amount of time for the security check to be completed before the exam starts on time.
  • Students need to strictly follow COVID-19 rules announced by the university.
  • Students will be allowed to take the exam only in the exam room at the specified time to be announced.
    • Students need to have their TEDU Card or another ID on which their picture is identifiable (driver’s license, national/international ID card, e-Devlet document) with them. They need to show their studentship document retrieved from e-Devlet if you do not have your TEDU card. For international and master’s students, one ID with a photograph is enough. Otherwise, studens who fail to provide any accepted document will not be admitted to the exam.
    • Latecomers will not be admitted to the exam.
    • Students cannot leave the exam room during the first 30 and the last 15 minutes.
    • There is no break after the exam starts. Those who finish their exam and leave the exam room cannot return and continue their exam.
    • Students are not allowed to use dictionaries.
    • Students are not allowed to take any type of food to the exam room.
    • Students are allowed to take water bottles with them to the exam room after its label is removed.
    • No material with writings on them is allowed in the exam rooms.
    • There are 100 multiple choice questions in the exam.
    • EPL consists of grammar, vocabulary and reading comprehension questions.
    • Students are expected to have a pencil, a pen, a rubber and a pencil sharpener. Students are recommended to have a spare pen, pencil and a spare rubber as well. Students will not be able to borrow any of these materials from each other.
    • Students are allowed to take a spare mask and cologne/disinfectant with them to the exam room.
    • All types of watches and electronic devices will be collected after they are turned off and stored in disposable plastic bags. Students who are found not to have submitted an electronic device will be subject to disciplinary investigation.
    • If the devices in the disposable bag are found not to be turned off, their owners will be subject to disciplinary investigation.
    • Proctors can write an incident report in case of a suspicious act of a student. Following this, a disciplinary investigation will begin.
    • If a student fails to code his exam booklet type or class code correctly on the optical forms, his/her exam resuly may be invalid.
    • Exam booklets and optical forms cannot be taken out of the exam rooms.
    • Students are not allowed to ask any question about the exam content to the proctor.
    • Students who tested positive for Covid or in quarantine will not be admitted to the exam. Such students are requested to send documents showing their health status (i.e. test result, HES report screenshot) to els@tedu.edu.tr. These students will be informed after their situation is reviewed.
