The validity of international standardized tests and certificates cannot exceed the maximum period of time determined by the institution administering them.

According to the Senate Decision dated 08.03.2024 and numbered 8, students who complete the IB program with an average score of 29 out of 45 will be exempt from the preparatory program.

Pursuant to the Senate Decision dated 11 December 2025 and numbered 21, it has been resolved that the exams and certificates recognized as equivalent to the TEDU English Proficiency Examination (TEDU-EPE) for the purpose of exemption from the TED University English Preparatory Program for TED University undergraduate and graduate students have been updated as specified in the table above, effective as of 1 February 2026. Accordingly, as of 1 February 2026, scores and certificates obtained from the IELTS and FCE examinations shall be deemed invalid for the purposes of application, assessment, exemption, or recognition related to the determination of foreign language proficiency. Such documents shall not be accepted as proof of English language proficiency, even if obtained prior to this date.

*Accepted within the scope of the "Cambridge English Language Assessment" exams conducted by the British Council.

** Only the scores of TOEFL IBT administered by universities and the Turkish American Association is accepted. Our university's institution code for the TOEFL exam is 2482. Students who will report their TOEFL scores to our university should use this code when registering for the exam. Additionally, students can find detailed information about TOEFL exam registration, test centers, test dates, and more at www.ets.org/toefl.

For detailed information about international exams that exempt students from the English Language School programs and are considered equivalent to the EPE, as well as the minimum required scores for exemption, you can email to els@tedu.edu.tr. Students who demonstrate successful performance at the designated level can begin their undergraduate studies.
