The English Placement Exam (EPL) will be held on August 3, 2026, and the English Proficiency Exam (EPE) will be held on August 4-5, 2026 for candidates who meet the criteria stated below.
Application Deadline: July 29, 2026
For International Students:
- Candidates who have applied to TED University within the scope of the international student quota are required to document their English language proficiency to begin their studies in the program they are enrolled in.
- Candidates who document their English proficiency with one of the internationally recognized exams and equivalent scores listed on the English Language School website may begin their studies in the program they are enrolled in. - International students who are unable to document their English proficiency must first take the English Placement Exam to be held on August 3, 2026. Students whose level is determined as Upper as a result of this exam will be eligible to take the English Proficiency Exam (EPE) to be held on August 4-5, 2026.
- Students who take these exams will NOT be eligible to take the English Placement Exam or the English Proficiency Exam to be held in September.
For Transfer Students:
- Among candidates who will apply for transfer, those who have passed the English proficiency exam of their previous higher education institution and who are enrolling at TED University for the first time through inter-institutional transfer from programs where the medium of instruction is 100% English may directly begin their undergraduate programs if they document their English proficiency.
- Candidates applying from institutions other than TED University who will not take the English Proficiency Exam are required to document their English proficiency. Candidates who submit an equivalency document showing that they have obtained one of the accepted scores from internationally recognized exams listed on the English Language School website may begin their studies in the program they are enrolled in. - Candidates applying through the transfer quota based on the Central Placement Score who are in preparatory school or first-year status at higher education institutions where the medium of instruction is Turkish or partially in a foreign language, and who cannot document their English proficiency, will be accepted to the English Preparatory Program.
- Transfer candidates who cannot document their English proficiency must first take the English Placement Exam to be held by the University on August 3, 2026. Students whose level is determined as Upper as a result of this exam will be eligible to take the English Proficiency Exam (EPE) to be held on August 4-5, 2026.
For Prospective Students Applying to Graduate Programs:
- For admission to graduate programs, candidates are required to document their English proficiency. English language proficiency may be determined through the English Proficiency Exam (EPE) administered by the University. National or international language exams recognized as equivalent by the Senate for graduate programs may also be used as proof of English proficiency. - Graduate candidates who cannot document their English proficiency may take the English Proficiency Exam (EPE) to be held on August 4-5, 2026.
- Graduates of TED University are NOT required to submit an additional English language proficiency document for admission to graduate programs.
Steps to Follow During the Application Process to Take the Exam:
By July 29, 2026, at the latest,
- The exam application fee must be paid to the Directorate of Financial Affairs. Office: A019
- The payment receipt must be submitted to the English Language School Administrative Office together with a petition. Office: B543
- Information regarding the exam date, time, and exam room will be sent from els@tedu.edu.tr to the e-mail address stated by the applicant in their petition.
Candidates who wish to take the exam must complete the application steps by July 29, 2026, at the latest.
