On 9 June 2026, the Professional Development Unit of TED University English Language School organized the “EPE Listening and Note-Taking Skills Workshop” for Upper Success students preparing for the English Proficiency Exam (EPE). The workshop was designed and facilitated by Renan Güney and Meriç Bulca, members of the Professional Development Unit.
The event aimed to support students’ success in the EPE while strengthening the academic skills required for university-level study. Throughout the workshop, participants were introduced to effective listening and strategic note-taking techniques, including identifying main ideas, distinguishing supporting details, recognizing lecture organization patterns, and producing efficient notes under exam conditions.
Students engaged in a variety of guided activities based on authentic EPE-style listening materials, allowing them to apply evidence-based strategies in realistic testing contexts. Combining practical application with explicit strategy instruction, the workshop provided students with valuable opportunities to enhance their listening comprehension and develop greater confidence in their exam preparation process.
Developed and delivered by Renan Güney and Meriç Bulca, the workshop reflects TED University English Language School’s ongoing commitment to promoting academic excellence through targeted skills development and learner-centered educational initiatives. The event also highlights the Professional Development Unit’s dedication to supporting student achievement through innovative and research-informed practices.
